WINE

What Proton is based on. You can use any of the tools mentioned in the Clients section of Games to use WINE to run games. But you can also use WINE to run the following:

• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
• Adobe Suite
• DAWs like: FL Studio, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools (though much more difficult), and Reason.
• AutoCAD
• Maya
• ClipStudioArt or other illustration tools
• And any other tool that you need on Windows that might not be available yet.

LASTLY, if something doesn't work well on WINE or Proton or it feels too difficult to install there's one final option. VM's or Virtual Machines.
